Donation towards a service dog for Melia

Check presentation to the Miller family

On April 28, 2018 board member Drew Montmarquet of the Lucas Magazine Community Foundation did a check presentation to the Miller family of Spring Hill, FL. With this donation the Miller family hopes to be able to purchase a service dog for their daughter Melia who suffers from autism. The Miller family hopes a service dog will help keep Melia safe. Melia suffers from stressful situations such as crowds and often wanders (near water). In addition to protecting her, the service dog will be trained to search and rescue her as well if the need arose.

If you would like to support the Miller family, please visit Melia’s donation website here.

The Lucas|Magazine Foundation shall be operated exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, including but not limited to helping individuals and organizations in the community, focusing on veterans, children, first-responders, and single parents.
